Collectible WW1 Medals

During the Great War, many brave soldiers on both sides of the conflict won medals. If they were lucky, the received the while they were still alive and the unlucky brave souls who received them did so posthumously.

Collecting WW1 Helmets

During the early stages of WW1, many of the wounds by soldiers were head wounds because believe it or not, none of the military forces on either sided issued helmets and they all wore either cloth or leather caps which offered no protection from bullets or shrapnel.

WW1 produced a lot of collectible items for those who are interested in that period. As that generation has aged and there are no longer any living veterans from WW1, the collectible items have been passed on through their families and collectors alike.

World War 1 was a miserable time for those who fought on the battlefield. Not only did they have to deal with death and destruction of the war, but they also were hit with the 1918 Spanish flu which sickened well over a million soldiers.
