World War 1 was a miserable time for those who fought on the battlefield. Not only did they have to deal with death and destruction of the war, but they also were hit with the 1918 Spanish flu which sickened well over a million soldiers.

There are some great books about WW1 and the events that took place. Although the not as popular as WW2, you can still find some very interesting books if you look.
